Choosing which flowers to grow in my garden was a pretty easy step for me. Anything that had these key words, easy to grow.
Also because I can't contain my excitement and I'm more than a little impatient: start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date: because that meant I could get my hands dirty now and try some indoor seed sowing while the weather outside was still meh.

I have a little experience with bulbs so I picked up a few kinds.

I also grew a small batch of sweet peas last year that did okay behind my vegetable garden, so I am going to give them another go. The colors were surprising and amazing and even with a little neglect they had a very long flowering season.
I have been checking all the nurseries and local stores, they all sell the same seeds from a farm not too far from us so I had no problem picking a bunch up from Fred Meyers when they were having a buy one, get one half off sale.

I still need to figure out what greens or fillers I can try my hand at, any suggestions would be awesome?!

So, I ended up with:
Icelandic poppies
Zinnias
Canterbury Bells
Ranunculus
Dahlias
Cosmsos
Larkspur
Sweet peas
Pumpkins
and a few flower mixes for the kids to do on their own.
Here is Yogi telling me which ones are pretty and which ones I don't need to waste my time on.
